The Cochrane Cruise is back for another season of sociable tours in the Cochrane area and beyond.

Over 60 cars registered for the first voyage of the season on May 14, a short lunch cruise to Black Diamond. The weather couldn't have been better for a chance for auto lovers to polish up their vehicles and hit the road.

"I don't know how many will show up beyond that, but we're already starting to run out of room to park the cars, so it's exciting. We love it. The bigger the better," says organizer Jim Messner.

A casual mini-show was held in advance of the cruise, giving people a chance to mingle and win door prizes.

"We're having a great time. Lots of people are itching to get out and they've got their vehicles shined up and we're going to have a beautiful drive today."

Cruisers were greeted by plenty of blue skies with a few clouds and snow-capped mountain peaks.

Messner says they hope to hold two cruises a month this driving season, depending upon the weather.

"There might be the odd rain out, but we're make up for it somewhere in the schedule."
