Spring has sprung and gardening season isn't far behind.

Conveniently coinciding with the return to yard work is the weekly organics collection around town.

Fabrizio Bertolo is the Manager of Waste & Recycling with the Town of Cochrane and he says that starting this Monday, April 12 Cochranites can place their green bins out for pick up on a weekly basis.

"So this week there's no organics collection and then next week we'll start with a weekly organics collection and that will go on and on until the first week of November," says Bertolo.

Cochranites won't need to regularly check the organics schedule for the next seven months, since having a weekly collection will make it easier to stay on track during the spring and summer.

Bertolo says that there are a couple of options available to help residents keep track of their schedules all year long.

"We have a fantastic app it's called 'My Cochrane Collection' and they can sign up for reminders for their collection schedule," says Bertolo. "They'll receive an email or text reminding them of their schedule, whatever they want."

Residents can also consult the town's collection calendar here.
