The Junior Ladies Silvertips continue to pile up the wins in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League with another nail-biter.

Overtime settled a 5-5 deadlock in a rematch between the Tips and the Calgary Axemen, May 24. Zoe Baergen scored the winner, her second of the game, at the 3:18 mark of sudden death overtime, assisted by Rylynn Hills and Christina Olver.

The team took a 3-0 lead but the Axemen sharpened their blade were able to tie it up by the end of the second. The Tips tallied two more in the third but again the Axemen tied it up to force overtime.

In addition to Baergen's goals, affiliate Rylynn Hills scored a hatrick for the Tips and Christina Olver scored one. Christina Olver had three assists, Kara Kondrat two and both Cassidy McRae and Rylynn Hills had one each.

These two teams had a close match earlier in the season that ended in a tie and head coach Todd Betterton had anticipated a close rematch.

The Tips now get a bit of a break before taking on the Okotoks Raiders at home at the Plainsmen Arena in Airdrie, June 2.

In other lacrosse action, the Jr. 'B' Silvertips won their first game of the season here at the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre, May 26, beating the Saskathcewan Swat, 8-7. They lost in Sunday to the Rampage, 11-7. They return to Totem One to face the top scoring offense of the Shamrocks, on June 2.
