Grand Avenue Pharmacy is getting ready to host the 6th Annual Diaper Derby.

The day event features two divisions; one for those slightly mobile and the other for wobbly toddlers.

Reid Kimmett, Grand Avenue Pharmacy, Operations Manager says while originally the event started off as a way of bringing community together the event now gives back to the Children's Wish Foundation.

"It is kind of a neat way for families to come together and have some joy and fun together and in doing so helping other families have similar experiences."

Last year Diaper Derby was able to donate approximately $400 and this year they are hoping to surpass that. For every participant and transaction in store, $2 will be donated to the foundation.

Kimmett adds it also kicks off 'Back to Healthy Habits and Baby Week'.

"We have seen a lot of young mothers adapting natural health and working that into how they treat their children and keep their children healthy. As we get back to school it is a reminder to get back to those healthy habits and thinking that way. We have flu season coming up, so just a matter of getting on top of that and focusing on immunity and health right now."

Diaper Derby kicks off at 11 am on Saturday, September 17. You can join trackside and cheer on this year's participants.
