Cochranites have been spotting various aircraft flying over town in preparation for the Wings Over Springbank Airshow.

The show is back after a three-year break this weekend (July 23 and 24). The non-profit, volunteer-driven Wings Over Springbank Airshow invites the best pilots in North America to the airport just southeast of Cochrane.

Large crowds are expected to take in the two-day event that will feature various planes dancing through the sky.  The Canadian Forces CF18 Demo Team, SkyHawks Canada, and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds will all be part of the festivities.

A kid's play area with bouncy castles, a beer garden, and a static exhibition of planes and vehicles are just a few of the ground activities during the airshow.
