Wrestling will be king in Cochrane on Friday night at the Cochrane Fair in a Night of Champions that includes six matches and an appearance by a legendary member of the Hart family.

CanAm Wrestling promoter Spencer Tapley says all the titles will be on the line, including the world heavyweight, tag team, women's, and the Alberta Wrestling Academy's Bikers are Buddies championships.

Before this even takes place, there's a King of Cochrane battle, refereed by Stampede Wrestling Hall of Famer Wayne Hall.

"Wayne is probably the most famous referee from Stampede Wrestling and is part of the action."

He says you can't miss the opportunity to watch the masked tag team of Elemental and Benito from Mexico.

"They are absolutely one of the most prolific and high-flying tag teams you're ever going to see. They're fantastic!"

Tickets for the wrestling show include admission to the Cochrane Fair on Friday (gates open at 2 p.m.), a VIP meet and greet with the wrestlers at 5:30 p.m. before the 6:30 bell time, and a chance to meet all the wrestlers at intermission. You'll also be able to kick up your heels at the dance that follows, featuring the band The Scarecrows.

CanAm Wrestling has been around for about 25 years. Since rebooting last summer, it's continued to entertain crowds across southern Alberta.
