The Airdrie Xtreme holds the top spot in the entire U15 Alberta Elite Hockey League and has clinched first place in the south division with five games remaining in the regular season.

Last weekend, the Xtreme swept all three games, including an 8-0 blowout against the Lloydminster Roswell Bobcats.

Last Saturday, the Airdrie Xtreme played the first-place team in the north division. At the time, both the Xtreme and the St. Albert Gregg Distributors Sabres were tied for first in the league with identical 26-1 records. The Xtreme proved why they are the best team in the league, cruising to a 9-1 win.

Sunday's game looked about the same, with the Xtreme beating Edmonton's Maple Leaf Athletic Club, 7-1.

Tomorrow (Feb. 11) they host the Calgary Flames at Airdrie's Ron Ebbesen Arena.

Riley Boychuk continues to be the team leader in points for the Airdrie Xtreme with 59, while Isaac Davies leads the team in goals with 25 goals.

The team has several players from the Cochrane area.
