Global Pet Foods is reaching out to the community at large to help them reach their $5000 goal in the 'Show Us Your Heart' campaign running until February 22nd

Christine and Fiona Sharman, co-owners of Global Pet Foods say this is the only time they ask the public for monetary donations and in past years customers have always come through.

Christine shares there are a couple of bonuses for shoppers and 100% of the proceeds go directly to supporting our local shelter. "If you spend $1 to $4 you don't get any bonus Airmiles, if you spend $5 or more you get 10 bonus Airmiles plus you get to put a paw print up with a name on it, and with any donation you get a Merrick Fresh Dental Treat or a tin of Merrick canned cat food. With every donation no matter what the dollar value is Global Pet Foods corporate will put in $1 as well. We just want to raise as much money as we can for the Humane Society."With every donation made customers can choose a free gift.

This is the seventh year the locally owned store has taken part in the national campaign, and Fiona shares last year the Cochrane store gave back the most money out of all 180 stores across Canada, raising roughly $5500.

Giving back to the Humane Society is something Global Pet Foods is passionate about and last year through various initiatives and sponsorships the owners donated close to $20,000 over the course of the year.

In total, since 2006, $1.7 million has been raised through the 'Show Us Your Heart' campaign which has supported over 130 animal shelters and rescue groups across Canada.

If you are a pet lover, stop on into Global Pets Foods and help them reach their $5000 goal as the campaign ends next Friday. "Because the community is so awesome here we would love to hit our goal or exceed it."
