The Cochrane Wolves have howled all season and capped it off last Friday by winning gold at Calgary Minor Soccer's Tier III City Finals.

The team had a core of players who have played together for years. Their hard work was rewarded with the gold after an incredible season. The Wolves were undefeated all season and won both the regular season and the playoffs.

Competing against three other teams qualifying for the city finals, the Wolves opened with an 8-4 win against the PSA Vipers on Mar 5. They advanced to the final on Mar. 8, winning 5-3 against the Calgary Villains FC.

Nathan Stevens was the top goal scorer in the playoffs with nine goals in the two games.  Brooke Miller had three important goals in the playoffs and Eliot Bouchard also scored a key goal in the final game.

The key to the team's success was their strength on defense, lead through the playoffs by Rylan Myers, Deakon Gerrie, Sterling Bachmeier and William Usher.  They were backed in net by keeper Griffin Beaulieu who made a number of crucial stops.

The team had three new players this season in Roen Lentowicz, Anderson Williams and Cole Damm, who all made important contributions to the team.  Finlay Snowden was injured for the playoffs, but played strong in the regular season and was there to support his team in the playoffs.
