The Cochrane Chaos have had a solid season thus far.

The girl hockey team has six games left before playoffs, and so far so good says Head Coach, Derek Loomer.

"Right now we are sitting 4th place in the south, from a winning percentage we are third, I will expect we will land anywhere from 2nd,3rd, or 4th by the end of the year. It has been a really good season."

Considering it is the first season for the Chaos, Loomer is pretty proud of the team's success and their continual pursuit for success.

"We started out just trying to find our identity and what we were going to be through the year and the girls started to fall into their roles and got better as the year went along."

Over the next two weekends the Chaos will play six games, as playoffs kick off February 25.

Loomer attributes the team's success to leadership from some experienced league players as well as great goaltending.

Next year looks pretty bright for the Chaos.

"We've had it building up here over the year, we've been getting the word out. We're hoping to have our spring camp the weekend of May 5,6,7 and hoping to get a bunch of girls out there. Going into next year hopefully we have a large pool of candidates to choose from and continue to improve our hockey club."

Loomer has been a part of girls hockey for the past 10 years and he says the Chaos provide the perfect alternative for girls who want to continue to play coming out of midget.

Come cheer on the Chaos, as they face off at 7:15 pm, February 10, at SLSFSC. A special performance/ presentation will occur right after first intermission in honour of Hometown Hockey.
