The Cochrane Chaos picked up a pair of wins over the weekend to put themselves in a dead heat with the Central Alberta Amazons for second place in the south division of the Alberta Junior Female Hockey League.

At home, the Chaos beat the Calgary Jags before winning on the road the next day in Lethbridge against the Eagles. The wins see the Chaos climbing back up the standings and striving for first.

Solving goalie Shen Justason is the biggest challenge to beating the Calgary Jags, Nov. 24.

Early in the first, Audrey Buston did just that to give the Cochrane team a 1-0 lead that proved to be the game winner. Kaylin Herman scored the assurance goal in the third.

Sunday in Lethbridge and the Chaos and Eagles were in a 1-1 deadlock after two periods of play. The Chaos scored two unanswered goals in the third to win 3-1.

It’s been a tougher season for the Chaos in the wins column, but assistant coach Greg Kozak is confident that they are right on track for a strong finish. 

"We've had a few more loses earlier, but I think actually overall played better," says Kozak. "We've lost a few games we should have won and in the end, I think we'll be a better team.".

The Chaos return home Friday night, Nov. 30, at the SLS Family Sports Centre for an important game against the south division-leading Calgary Titans before hosting the Eagles on Dec. 1.
