Cochrane's Snap Studios dancers are getting ready to wow family and friends at their upcoming year-end recital taking place today (June 2) at RockPointe Church.

Alison Stutz, Studio Manager says this year 382 dancers will take the stage in a three-part recital which is broken up by experience. Spending their last few weeks polishing routines and practising finale pieces, the dancers are excited to tap, twirl and sashay across the stage.

No moment is wasted for the dancers who have been going strong since the end of April,  competing in back to back dance festivals 'Dance Invasion' and the 'Great Canadian Dance Challenge', Stutz shares both herself and owner, Courtney Sproule, are thrilled with how the dancers have done this season. "It's great to see them apply their corrections they get from adjudicators at each event, it's great to see their confidence grow and get more comfortable each time they hit the stage but it's even greater to watch the different groups mix and mingle even more. By the last competition, we really see that team come out and kids of different levels are hanging out together and helping each other out."

Snap had six routines out of the top 25 from the week compete in the Dance Invasion Dance Off and the experience, in itself, of competing in the Great Canadian Dance Challenge is good for the dancers. "It's honestly the next step and I think it's really good exposure especially for our older dancers and our competitive, really serious kids, that this is that next step."

Doors open at 9:30 am today beginning with Recital A, Little Snappers and Foundational Dancers before Recitals B and C take the stage.

While previous Snap dancers got a jump start on registration, public registration has been open since May 14. Auditions for dancers wishing to compete in solos, duos and trios will take place on June 10 and if you require more information on next year's classes and schedule, go HERE.

The studio will also run confidence camps in July for dancers with limited/varied experience and an intensive camp end of August for those looking to be challenged.
