Cochrane Skating Club's first appearance in a synchronized skating competition proved to be a great success.

The 33rd annual Rose Bowl Synchronized Skating Competition featured skaters from all over Alberta and Western Canada competing on teams from beginner to adult.

This is Cochrane's first year entering the world of synchronized skating and 'Cochrane Swift Edges' placed just off the podium in 4th place.

Coach Karen Allison, says since the team has only been together since September, she was super thrilled with the results.

Cochrane Swift Edges has nine team members age 9-12, and although they never made podium no one is disappointed.

"I feel really good about where thing are at and I am looking forward to polishing the program even further for the next competition in March."

Cochrane Swift Edges made Allison's goal by scoring on all required elements in their performance only to miss 3rd place podium spot by 1/10th of a point.
