The Cochrane Toros remain undefeated in their first six games in the North Calgary Baseball League.

The young Toros team remains on top of the league with their perfect record heading into the final five games of the season. With 92 runs for and 20 against, they've proven to be a powerhouse in the 13-team league in the Calgary area.

A May 27 matchup proved no different with the team taking their sixth straight mercy win,11-1, over the Calgary Centennial 2 team. Pitcher Xavier Vaillancourt stayed in for a full 100 pitches before a relief pitcher came in part way through the fifth to clean up and end the game in six innings.

The core of the Toros have played together for years and have three championships to their credit. They're also largely formed by 15-16-year-olds and many would still qualify to play senior ball, but instead opted to join the new league. The league is largely designed for 17 and 18-year-olds and overage players up to 21.

There are three games on the Toros schedule this week, two on the road and one here Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. on Rodeo South.
