The Cochrane Crush Major AA team is heading to the semifinals this afternoon after topping their pool even before this morning's 9 a.m. game.

Some key starters were being rested in preparation for the semifinal. If they win, they head into tomorrow's finals of the Little League Prairie Championship beginning hosted here in Cochrane.

The Crush easily downed both Brooks and Medicine Hat 2 in their first two games on Saturday. They beat Brooks 16-6 in their opening game before downing Medicine Hat 14-4 in a mercy rule win.

The playoff round starts at 3 p.m. today (Aug. 5). Winning teams will advance to tomorrow's final.

All the Crush games have been at the Mark Kroll Memorial Park diamonds.

The Cochrane Crush form up for a spontaneous group shot after winning their first game Saturday morning.
