Hair pieces, lashes, and big smiles will be plentiful as local dancers head off to their first festival of the season.

The Class Act Festival kicks off today (March 16) and runs through until Sunday (March 19) at MacEwan Hall in Calgary.

Jodi Aasen, owner/teacher Eurhythmics Dance Studio says about 120 dancers from her studio will be performing.

"We are one of the smallest studios participating out of the nine that are going."

Dancers will be taking stage performing in a variety of disciplines from hip hop to ballet, showcasing their learned skills.

Aasen says over the four day period 1500 dancers will be competing from Calgary, Okotoks, Vulcan, Airdrie, High River, Chestermere, and of course Cochrane.
