The up and down year continues for the Cochrane Generals.

The Gens fell back to a .500 record for the season, sitting at 8 and 8 following a 7 - 2 loss last night (November 17) at the hands of the Lightning in Stettler.

The Generals actually outshot the Lightning 49 - 47 in the game which saw them go 0 for 3 on the power play while Stettler scored twice with the man advantage.

Jordan Fisher and Scott Shugg were the only Cochrane players who could solve Brett Roper in the Stettler goal with both scoring in the opening period.

The Generals will be after a more favourable result at home tonight when they host the Airdrie Thunder at 7:30 pm at the Spray Lakes Sawmill Family Sports Centre.

Airdrie is coming off a 4 - 2 win over the Strathmore Wheatland Kings last night and hold down first place in the HJHL Northern Division with an 11-4 and 2 record.

Cochrane and Airdrie have played twice this season with Airdrie winning the opener 5 - 4 in overtime and Cochrane taking the second meeting by a score of 5 - 3.
