The Cochrane Generals and Airdrie Thunder each experienced firsts in the 2017 - 2018 Heritage Junior Hockey League season last night (September 29).

The Generals peppered the Thunder's goaltender with 57 shots and pulled out a 5 - 3 win..

The firsts were the first win of the season for the Generals after they lost twice on opening weekend and the first loss of the season for the Thunder after a pair of wins last weekend.

Eight different players accounted for the eight goals by the two teams.  Cochrane's lone player with a multi point game was Scott Shugg who scored once and added an assist.

Both clubs are back in action tonight.  Cochrane plays their home opener tonight against the Ponoka Stampeders.

Game time at the Spray Lakes Sawmill Family Sports Centre is 7:30 pm.

Airdrie travels to Strathmore for an 8:00 pm game against the Wheatland Kings.
