With only six games left in the regular season the boys are playing hard and coming out on top.

The Gens have won all four games so far in 2017, beating out the Strathmore Wheatland Kings, Coaldale Copperheads (twice), and the Okotoks Bisons.

Head Coach Dan Gendur says the boys have been doing a great job so far.

"We won all our games so far, the guys came back from their Christmas break ready to work and getting ready for our playoff run."

As far as players being back on the ice, Gendur says while they started off with everyone back on the ice that soon fell apart.

"It just seems that injury bug isn't going away for us unfortunately, we've got a few guys injured again. It's been all year guys have been stepping up and filling roles and it has been showing in these three games. We have been behind in all the games and come back and won in all three."

Although the boys managed to pull off a 4-3 victory Sunday, January 15, against the Bisons, Gendur, says he is not sure why, but Sunday afternoon games have been a tough slog.

"For some reason I can't really put a finger on it, why, but we're really struggling in Sunday afternoon games. We didn't play very well for our standards, but the guys battled and came away with a victory."

For the next few games Gendur says the goal is to keep their eye on the prize and secure first place in the conference.

Next game up for the Generals is Tuesday, January 17 against Stettler Lightening at the Ponoka Culture and Recreation Complex.
