After an up and down season the Cochrane Generals are hoping their improved play of late keeps going this weekend in a pair of games.

The Generals are 8 and 7 on the year and sit in fifth place in the Heritage Junior Hockey League South Division.  However, the Generals have four wins in their last five games heading into the weekend.

Friday night, Cochrane goes on the road to take on the Stettler Lightning.  Stettler is also in fifth spot in the North Division but have just three wins and a pair of overtime losses this season.  The puck drops on that game at 7:30 pm at the Stettler Recreation Centre.

Saturday night a familiar rivalry heats up again at the Spray Lakes Sawmill Family Sports Centre when the Airdrie Thunder come to town for a game.

Airdrie holds down top spot in the North with a 10 - 4 and 2 record.  The last time these two teams met back on September 29th, the Generals prevailed 5 - 3.

Game time is 7:30 pm.
