The Cochrane Generals never lead in 60 minutes of play but they found a way to win last night in a 6-5 overtime thriller on the road to open their semifinal series against the Okotoks Bisons in HJHL action.

Down by two at the end of two, the Gens cut the lead to one halfway through the third. In the dying seconds, the Gens pulled out all the stops by adding a sixth attacker. With 10 seconds remaining Jordan Fisher scored the equalizer from all-star defenceman Jordan Marks.

The Bisons' Joel Deeprose picked a poor time to get four-minutes in the icehouse for slewfooting Gens cap Brandon Aab, but the Gens won't complain. Two minutes into the penalty Harry Olser scored the winner from Aab.

It was a two-goal night for Jordan Fisher who has clearly found his stride after returning from an injury late in the regular season. Jonah Desrosiers, Harry Osler and Keenan McElroy each scored a goal and assist while Caden Chudleigh notched the other goal. Taylor Girard, peaking at the right time, assisted on two and Jordan Marks, Brandon Aabs, Ben Davison, Braden Bain each had an assist.

The Gens fired 52 shots in regulations and Gens goalie Erik Garber turned away 26 of 31 shots.

Tonight, the Gens aim to gain a two-game lead in what will be a tightly-contested, fast and hard-hitting seven-game series. This is a series you don't want to miss. Come charge the atmosphere for our hometown junior team.

Game time is 7:30 p.m. at the Cochrane Arena.
