Bow Valley Rugby Club (BVRC) registration is now open.

As of today (February 22), youth, women, and men are invited to register for the 2017 season, and what a season it will be.

Besides being one of the fastest growing sports across Canada, Francine Horton, Bow Valley Rugby Club, Administrator, says BVRC provides a great community.

"I think because the youngsters the girls and boys at the U7/U9 they get to see the men and the women this year playing and they have something to aspire to, it is something to encourage kids to keep sport going throughout their lives. Everyone goes and watches everyone else."

Horton says rugby is still one of the most affordable sports being offered in Cochrane for the length of the season and how many games they actually get in.

New this year for BVRC is an 18+ women's team, as well as, adult touch rugby being offered at the same time U9 and U17 programs run so the whole family can get active.

Although BVRC has a good number of quality coaches, with rapid growth they are always looking for more.

"We're getting bigger and bigger every year as a club, we definitely need coaches that have played rugby or have previous rugby experience. We like to boast that is what our coaches currently have; they are all Level Two trained, but we would like to encourage more people to come along and help with coaching."
