Members of the Alberta wrestling team left today for the Canada Summer Games after a final week of training that included two sessions of hot yoga at Alchemy Yoga here in Cochrane.

The team, that includes members from as far north as Grande Prairie and south as Lethbridge, was practising at the University of Calgary training facilities all week and left Saturday morning for Winnipeg. Ten members of the team, including the Cochrane Cowboys' Connor McNeice and Hunter Smith, participated in hot yoga sessions on Aug. 3 and 4 in the a.m. before the intense two-hour late afternoon training sessions.

Even when they arrive in Winnipeg they have a few days of practice before hitting the matts for the compeitition against Canada's best young wrestlers, Aug. 9 to 11.

Rowing update:

On Friday, Brielle Thorsen, of Cochrane, and Sarah Power, of Edmonton, placed second in the consolation finals of double sculls female rowing with a time of 8:24.07.
