There are many great reasons to encourage your child to become involved. Not only does it empower and boost self esteem, it motivates students and enables them to make better grades.
The Grade 6 boys/girls basketball has started up in Cochrane, introducing many young players to the sport.
David Legg, Volunteer Coach, has been coaching the Mitford Mountain Lion grade 6 boys for a few years and was pleased so many boys show up for the first practice Tuesday (January 24) evening.
Legg says there are no cuts in grade 6.
"If you want to play, you are on the team."
The first year focuses on introducing students to the game, building skills, and confidence, where the older grades are more competetive.
The 3 week season will wrap up with a fun tournament on February 10 at Mitford School.
