It wasn't a particularly auspicious start to the Canadian Finals Rodeo for the three Milan brothers from Cochrane last night (November 8).

Of the three, only one managed to wrestle his steer to the ground and the 5.9 run turned in by Straws Milan wasn't good enough to put him in the money last night.

Consort's Brendan Laye took over the money lead in steer wrestling with a 3.1 run, netting him $11,212.50 and bringing his total on the year to $31,450.67, a mere $265 ahead of Tanner Milan who went into CFR leading the standings.

Tanner took a no time in last night's performance, as did the third Milan brother Baillie.

You can see the full results of last night's rodeo performance here.

The second of the six performances of CFR goes tonight at 7:30 pm at Northlands Coliseum in Edmonton.
