Last weekend's Canadian Finals Rodeo in Edmonton had mixed results for the three Milan brothers from Cochrane who competed in steer wrestling.

For Tanner, who went into the finals holding down first place in the event, the six CFR performances didn't turn out like he'd planned.  Tanner finished second in performance number two and fifth in the fourth performance.

Those results allowed him to add just $9,487.50 to the $31,185.92 he'd earned going into the finals to bring his total for the year to $40,673.42, good for fifth place overall in steer wrestling.

CFR turned out to be a more lucrative proposition for Straws Milan.  Two first place go round finishes and a third place result earned him $30,475 at the CFR.  Combined with the $20,178.64 earned through the season, the total allowed him to place third overall in the event.

For the third Milan brother Baillie the going at CFR was tough.  Although he put five qualified runs together in six tries, only one was good enough to collect any cash, a fifth place finish for $575 in peformance number five.  His total for the year was $21,901.31, putting him in eleventh spot.

Jason Thomas of Benton, Arkansas put together six go round placings and won the average at CFR to take the steer wrestling championship with a total of $59,177.23.  Scott Guenthner of Provost, Alberta finished second.
