Cochrane's spring/summer swim club has been underway since May 1.

Time has been flying by and the Piranhas are already headed into their second schedule.

Taking on 52 swimmers this season, Breanna Hendriks, Piranhas Head Coach, says many of the swimmers have moved up this year and into older groups.

"For me and Duncan, as a coach it's pretty exciting because we get to see that progression of swimmers moving up through the ranks and always returning so it's very exciting for all of us."

Hendriks, shares there will be many athletes to keep your eye on this season. "Especially the kids who I first started coaching who were in the silver group that is like our second lowest group, they worked really hard. For two years I coached them in that group and I started moving them up last year. This year we have a Gold One, Gold Two, Silver, Yellow, and Red so we actually five groups which is pretty exciting. Everyone is moving up and progressing, they are doing a great job."

Stephanie Grosse (16), Duncan Swedlo, and Hendriks will be coaching and assisting the 52 swimmers who have a number of meets this season. In preparation, swimmers are currently focusing on good technique and building endurance. "We are working on a lot of technical stuff right now and some volume especially for those older kids. Working on getting a good aerobic base started and then we can go from there and build on it."
