The Jr. Ladies Silvertips won their third in a row with a 9-4 win over the Oktotoks Raiders, May 19.

Head coach Todd Betterton was impressed with the play of his team against the daunting Raiders.

"What I liked about our game is that we had balanced lines and everybody worked hard and executed like we do in practice, and that makes all the difference."

Staying out of the penalty box also helped and it's something they've been battling so far this season.

"I had a good chat with some of our key players about that and they listened and it helped us," says Betterton. "We're better players out of the box than in it."

Winning matchups against south division teams will go a long way in preparing the team for when playoffs come.

"We've got to get points against them. It will put us up nicely for a playoff contention run if we continue the way we have been playing."

Annie Morrison had a hat trick, Christina Olver and affiliate TheRylynn each scored two and singles went to Taylor McElroy and Lauren Murphy.

The Tips are now undefeated in four games, tying one and winning their last three.

They have a rematch with the Calgary Axemen on Wednesday night.

"We tied Axemen the last time we played them so we're going to be up for that game. It will be fun."
