The Cochrane Swift Edges have wrapped up their season in unison.

The skaters were in Edmonton last weekend (March 19) at the Synchronized Skating Invitational and although they placed 5th, their Coach Karen Allison (Cochrane Skating Club) couldn't be more proud.

Being the Swift Edges inaugural year, Allison taught the group base valued technical elements so everyone developed a firm grasp on synchro skills, but says once the group increases complexity, watch out.

"Next year if we can combine our excellent skating skills with those strong technical elements I think we'll be doing very well."

Although the girls didn't place at the Invitational, the feedback was positive, shares Allison, "other synchro coaches that have welcomed us into the synchro community has been (saying) that our team looks really great and has lots of potential."

Allison is hopeful all the girls come back next season and is hoping to expand the group into a junior and a senior team to balance out skills and strength.

A synchro question and answer may be announced in the future for all those skaters interested.

" I would love to have two teams for next year and am excited for the challenge."
