A Riversong homeowner is once again transforming his home into a house of horrors and all for a great cause.

Gary Robertson shares this is the second year he will host 'Frights For Food' at his home and is hoping a ton of community members drop by and enjoy the theme CarnEvil. "The idea is to have a bit of a haunted house, drum up some scares, give out some candy, and hopefully, collect a whole bunch of donations for the Veterans Association Food Bank."

The haunted carnival theme at the Robertson residence will feature three areas for all age groups. "There are three different levels of frights for people. So for the younger kids or those that aren't as interested in getting scared, they can just check out the things outside, offer donations and get some candy. In the garage, it's a little tamer as well and set up as a sideshow with some clowns and other interesting things to see and then the scariest part is through the house which is set up as a funhouse with lots of things that will jump out."

A Halloween lover since he was a child, Robertson decided to take his enjoyment of horror and publicly share it. "Last year I decided to do something with that and being so close to Remembrance Day, I thought, why not use Halloween as an opportunity to bring people out and collect donations. So it is building on the passion I have had for years and years."

Lat year's theme was the 'Asylum' and Robertson is hoping to alternate theme's every couple years.

Last year Roberston collected over 400lbs of non-perishable food items and a couple hundred dollars in cash and he is hopeful to at least do the same this year. "I am hoping we can at least match that this year and maybe even make it to 500 pounds."

Last years theme was the Asylum and Robertson shares he plans to have a couple different themes which he will alternate on a yearly basis.

If you can't stop by Halloween night and would still like donate, Robertson will happily accept your donations now until the end of this week.

The CarnEvil Halloween house is located at 70 River Heights Crescent and will run from 5 to 9 pm on Halloween night.
