Gold, silver, bronze.

Ashley McCool has earned a complete set of Canada Summer Games medals in her three diving events, making her Alberta's only multiple medal winner in the early goings.

Yesterday, the 17-year-old Cochrane athlete finished her medal sweep with a bronze in the 1m springboard dive. That follows on the footsteps of winning Alberta's first gold with synchro diving partner Margo Erlam on Monday and McCool's silver medal performance in the 3m dive on Tuesday.

“I’m pretty excited," says McCool. "I didn’t really expect anything prior to this competition, where everybody has its ups and downs."

McCool was third in the 1m preliminary round and held on to the position in the final. Elaena Dick of Ontario won gold and Coral Strugnell of British Columbia won silver.

In the first few days of competition, Alberta has six medals and half of those have McCool's name attached,

This will be McCool's second and final appearance at the Canada Summer Games and what a way to go out.

"I'm super excited. I'm ending off good, I can't complain."

Next up for McCool is the FISU Games in Taipei later this month. She then joins her new diving team at Arizona State in Temple, AZ.

In rowing, Cochrane's Brielle Thorsen will competing in both the female double scull consolation final with partner Sarah Power, of Edmonton, and in the female single scull consolation final on Friday.

Cochrane's two wrestlers will be leaving for Winnipeg in a few days and continue their training with the rest of the team at the University of Calgary.
