On Dec. 9, 2014, the town proudly announced the curling centre naming rights were awarded to PBA Land Development for a $1.35 million contribution and it would be known as the Phillips Curling Centre.

Apparently, though, three years later, those naming rights have not been finalized and for the time being the facility is only to be referred to as the curling centre.

Suzanna Gaida, Cochrane's assistant chief administrative officer, says PBA's board of directors will be meeting prior to Christmas to further discuss the terms of the naming rights. She's optimistic the deal will be finalized soon.

That money is part of the $4,664,386.07 raised through the Rock the Waves fundraising campaign.

PBA is the Development Manager for the 545-acre master planned Southbow Landing community owned by related company Philco Farms Ltd.
