This is your last opportunity to provide public feedback surrounding Daylight Savings Time change.

NDP, MLA Thomas Dang collected feedback from Albertans back in February whether or not the province should continue to fall back in November and spring ahead in March, with that feedback forming Bill 203.

Now the time has come for Albertans to once again provide their written feedback on the proposed Bill before the committee submits recommendations to the legislature in early October. Graham Sucha, Committee Chair and MLA for Calgary-Shaw, says they have received a lot of feedback on the topic.

"It is one of those things that Albertans are quite passionate about, it is one of the topics we hear about the most. A lot of Albertans have really outlined how they do not like having the time change and the impacts it has on the quality of life. We have some who have also provided feedback that they want to stay the same so that is why the committee was struck by the legislature to dig a bit deeper into this and what people's feedback is."

Sucha is hoping to hear from as many people as possible. "It is very important for the committee and its members to hear from Albertans on how this is going to impact their lives and we want to make sure their voices are heard. We look forward to hearing from people in relation to what's important to them."

You have until July 28 to get your written feedback and submissions in, after that the committee will reconvene to review. "At the beginning of August the committee will be meeting again and looking at all the feedback that has been compiled and determine next steps, whether that is seeking further feedback from Albertans or providing them with any follow up."

The proposed legislation in Bill 203, if passed, will come into effect 2018.
