Cochrane Dairy Queen was blessed with good weather for the first day of spring and fantastic community support.

Tim Morrison, Owner of Cochrane Dairy Queen, says he was thrilled with the numbers at the end of the event. "Free cone day was great, we really were fortunate to have such a beautiful day. For the day we gave away 1247 cones and raised $1055 in donations for the Alberta Children’s Hospital. It’s a good starting point and we will build on those numbers next year."

This was the first time Morrison held the event which is usually only a United States initiative. With social media spreading the word, Morrison decided rather than turning customers away, it was way better to give back.

The next big fundraising event for the store will be Miracle Treat Day in August, where proceeds from Blizzard sales support kids with health issues.
