You will have an opportunity to learn what the Banff-Cochrane UCP Constituency Association has been working on at a public open house tomorrow (April 14).

Our local Constituency Association is looking forward to providing an update to members and the community at large, shares Philip Cape, VP of fundraising Banff-Cochrane UCPCA. "We are holding an information session for the public and our members about how the UCP is moving forward with our policy process and our upcoming AGM and boundary division."

The policy process has already begun and the local CA board has been very active shares Cape. "Bring your questions. We have quite an active board in Cochrane. Our Cochrane board has put forward many policies that are in the process of getting to the AGM. I think 20% of the healthcare policies came out of Cochrane alone."

At the party (UCP) AGM on the May 4th weekend, information about the nomination rules and party constituation will be released. "Once those nomination rules come out it sets in stone how the nominees need to run and how they can win a nomination in the race."

Currently, the Banff-Cochrane UCP Constituency Association has 29 members which will drop off quite a bit once the new boundary division starts. An AGM will occur mid-June for our new division Airdrie-Cochrane.

Tomorrow's event at the Cochrane Legion runs from 9 am until noon and has a $10 charge to cover refreshments and snacks, they are also hoping attendees will bring along a food bank donation for the Activettes. You will be able to purchase a UCP membership for $10 if you don't already have one and only members will be able to participate in the nomination vote which is anticipated to occur in late summer or early fall.
