Many Cochrane and area schools held their Remembrance Day services today, Nov. 10, and tomorrow the community will come together to remember our fallen.

The annual Remembrance Day ceremony, organized by the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #15, begins at 10 a.m sharp at the Cochrane High School. It's a tight schedule that includes the traditional service as well as the reading of "Tears" by its author Brenden Reeve, a young student at the Westbrook School.

The second part will be held at the community cenotaph and at 11 a.m. The Last Post will be bugled, followed by one minute of silence, the reading of In Flanders Fields, Reveille, the laying of the wreaths and the balance of the service.

On Friday, the gymnasium of the RancheView School in the Sunset neighbourhood was packed for the school's Remembrance Day service and provided the opportunity for students to learn and reflect upon the sacrifices made. Three other Cochrane area schools invited representatives of the local Legion to participate in their services.

Environment Canada forecasts the weather to be moderate during the service here. Fog patches are expected to dissipate in the morning and be followed by clear sunny skies. A high of plus 1 degrees Celsius is forecasted, though it will likely be slightly below zero during the ceremony.
