Rocky View County (RVC) has cleared the way for the Bow Rivers Edge Campground Society to make an offer for the land they are currently leasing from Rocky View County.

A pair of motions followed an incamera session: one informing the Town of Cochrane the existing public service zoning of the 12-acres of land need not be changed; the second giving Rocky View County administration the authoirty to negotiate a sales price and then bring it back to council for ratification.

BRECS is operated by the Cochrane Rotary Club and Cochrane Lions Club and is jointly owned by these service clubs, RVC and the town. It has proven to be a popular RV destination that also contributes funds annually to worthy causes through its community reinvestment program.
