Alberta EMS confirms that one person has died after a tragic crash this morning northwest of town on the Big Hill Springs Rd. (Hwy. 575).

A man driving a pickup truck collided with a westbound dump truck at approximately 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Big Hill Springs Road and Bearspaw Road

STARS Air Ambulance was originally called to the scene but EMS later cancelled the call after declaring one of the drivers deceased.

The second driver was assessed by EMS but no transport to the hospital was required.
