The schedule has been set for presentations being made by Premier Rachel Notley and leaders of the other three major political parties in Alberta during a Mid-Sized Cities Caucus Meeting being hosted by Cochrane this Thursday.
Alberta Party leader Stephen Mandel is first up at 8:45 a.m., followed by Liberal leader David Khan at 9:30 a.m., UCP leader Jason Kenney at 11 a.m. and NDP leader Rachel Notley at 2:30 p.m.
Members of the caucus hope to gain some insight on how the election platforms of each of the parties would benefit Alberta municipalities. A provincial election is anticipated sometime this spring.
The mayors and chief administrative officers of 22 Alberta municipalities meet bi-annually to discuss and strategize on matters of mutual concern. They are part of 35 provincial constituencies with a combined population of nearly one million Albertans.
Municipal Affairs minister Shaye Anderson is also scheduled to attend.
