A dark-haired Caucasian man is believed to have been involved with yesterday's shooting of a 60-year German motorist on Hwy. 1A near the Chief Goodstoney Rodeo Centre.

RCMP continue to put the pieces together in their investigation and while some helpful tips have been received more are sought.

The RCMP urgently want to speak to the driver of a recreational vehicle that was travelling eastbound on Highway 1A, through Morley, between 11:45 and 11:55 a.m. The male driver witnessed this collision which prompted him to call 9-1-1, explains RCMP Cpl. Laurel Scott of media relations.  The RV stopped at the collision and departed shortly after. The RCMP are asking that the citizen associated to the RV please contact the Cochrane RCMP.

The RCMP continue to believe that a small black sedan may be in involved in this incident and its driver has been described to be Caucasian and have long dark hair.

The victim, a German visitor to Calgary, is recovering from surgery in a Calgary hospital and is reported to be in critical but stable condition. The three other occupants in the vehicle were not seriously injured and have received support from various agencies.

Tips have been rolling in and the RCMP are following up on all leads. General investigators as well as those from the Forensic Identification Section, Collision Analyst and Police Dog Services have all been deployed to assist in this investigation.

As of yet, no motive has been determined.
