Musicians watched suspects take equipment right in front of their own eyes.

Imagine after a hard night of work, you are taking a break when a vehicle pulls up and someone steals your equipment right in front of you.

This is what happened January 28 to some musicians from the band Jerome playing a show in Bragg Creek Community Centre. At approximately 10 pm a vehicle pulled up and someone jumped out and grabbed the guitars leaning up against the fence. One of the victims attempted to stop the theft and was struck by the suspect(s) vehicle. The vehicle fled and the suspects threw the guitars out the window as it was being pursued by a car passing by.

Corporal Troy Savinkoff says the vehicle involved was very distinct and that it should help in the investigation.

"We believe there were two female front passengers and one male in the back seat."

The suspect vehicle is described as:

  • Newer blue Toyota FJ Cruiser
  • After market black rims with the lip of the rim being silver
  • Bush bar on the front bumper
  • After market light bar on top of vehicle
  • Alberta licence plate.

Anyone with any information about this occurrence is asked to contact Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000.
