Roughly a week after Rocky View County announced a fire advisory, the Town of Cochrane is following suit.

As of 9 am today (December 14), the Fire Chief issued an advisory to the Town of Cochrane. With the warm, dry weather and windy conditions, the advisory presents a moderate risk and residents are asked to be extra vigilant.

Open air burning (not in a receptacle) is prohibited and fire services are advising to soak the area adjacent to fire pits with water.

You are currently still able to use:

  • Town fire pits
  • Backyard fire pits
  • Charcoal briquette barbeques
  • Propane/ natural gas barbeques
  • Propane/ natural gas fire pits
  • Outdoor fireplace
  • Chimneas
  • Fournos Oven
  • Indoor fireplace
