The Town of Cochrane is holding an Open House to review plans for the James Walker Trail Alignment and an undeveloped Riversong road closure application .

Riley Welden, Senior Town Planner, says the purpose of the event is twofold.  One is to inform residents of an application the Town is making to close an undeveloped road allowance in the Riversong area.  The other is to provide information on the James Walker Trail alignment.

Welden says Town staff at the Open House will have displays set up to show residents about the proposed road changes as well as some of the land use for the Riversong and River Heights area.  He says "staff will be there to answer questions and to explain about the process for the road closure and explain the opportunities for feedback both tomorrow night as well as the process through council as well".

Welden adds that the Town is at the initial stage of the road closure process which is notifying residents of the intent to apply for closure of an undeveloped road allowance. The next step will be to take the application to council.

The Town has established an alignment for James Walker Trail and where it will be located in the future.  They are working through the process of acquiring the land for the development of the Trail.

The Open House will be held at Cochrane Toyota Community Room on Wednesday (March 22) from 3:30 to 7:00.
