Over the past week, we (Cochrane Now) have sacrificed hair does for pancakes as Cochrane gave a big 'Yahoo' for Stampede.

The syrup was a flowing, and country music thumping as Cochrane businesses and organizations encouraged event goers to come out and celebrate.

Banff-Airdrie, MP Blake Richards flipped hundreds of flapjacks at the three breakfasts he attended in Cochrane and said more than cowboy hats, boots, and a good time...Stampede takes us back to our roots.

"It is a great opportunity to get people together but I think even more than that it is also an opportunity to celebrate our heritage and our traditions. If you think about how the west was settled the ranching way of life was a big part of creating the great province that we have and I think the Stampede is a great way to celebrate that."

A big thank you goes out to all the businesses that stepped up and hosted this year's breakfasts for young and old.
