Cochrane residents were well fed this week.

With beautiful weather, all the pancake breakfasts were a huge success. While some have been flipping pancakes in our community for almost two decades, others like the Corner Coworking hosted for the very first time.

There was certainly no shortage of people lined up for breakfast; most places saw record numbers and happy smiles.

Dianne and Kelly Kimmett with Two Pharmacy say they have only been participating in the pancake breakfast with other Grand Avenue area businesses for a couple years, but it is a joy to give back. "Because it's this community, you couldn't have a better community to give back to. Just look around; the sun is shining, families are out here, music is playing...it's just a great environment."

Jill Bilodeau, Executive Director with the Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane and Area, shares a similar sentiment. "The community has been so supportive in the past few years for us and we think this is a great way for us to give back to the community and see all the community come out and enjoy this special day with us."

Hopefully, you got your fill of free flapjacks this week as the next opportunity will occur Labour Day weekend.

Thanks to all the businesses, organizations and volunteers that made this year's Stampede breakfasts a success.
