This past summer brought the inaugural weekend event Elevate: Cochrane's Wellness Weekend to town which showcased health, personal wellbeing, and community pride.

While Elevate weekend will move to the month of October in 2019, Marni Richelle, Event Organizer has decided to hold seasonal 'We Are Cochrane' evenings where attendees can hear real, captivating stories of Cochranites in an intimate setting.

We Are Cochrane was held in conjunction with Elevate last summer and with such positive feedback, Richelle decided to hold smaller versions of the event more frequently throughout the year.

On April 5th, four Cochrane locals will be telling their raw personal stories in a TedTalk style where they will be open about how hardship and triumph, grief and joy, and difficult situations have shaped them into who they are today. For this version of We Are Cochrane, Richelle says there will be a real focus on how community played a role in the process. "They will be sharing their story but with a thread of inspiration and how community played a part in their story. Just like last time, I will open it up at the end for anyone else who wants to share whatever is on their heart. It  was really quite moving with what they were willing to come up and talk about."

Excited to see the reveal of Cochrane Tourism's, 'It's The Feeling', Richelle says We Are Cochrane plays on the same point. "It ties everything in; it truly is a feeling you get when you come into Cochrane or live in Cochrane because people are willing to be open, vulnerable, and share their story."

Richelle is just waiting for final confirmation before releasing the final speakers' list. The intimate evening will be held at The Gentry Espresso and Wine Bar on Friday evening (April 5), and you are encouraged to purchase your $10 ticket early by going HERE, as it is on a first come/first serve basis.

If you have a great story to share, Richelle is always looking for future speakers to share their journey at an upcoming We Are Cochrane and you can reach her at
