As of January 30, Cochranites are invited to vote for who or what should adorn our local currency.

Robert Kalinovich, with Economic Development, says community members have until February 12 at midnight to cast their vote.

"There is a selection of individuals from Cochrane's past and reasons why they could be considered as well as scenes of buildings or places in Cochrane and why they are important to Cochrane,"

Kalinovich says they have provided a shortlist from working with various groups within the community to get a sense of who or what would be of importance. Don't see something you like...no worries...Kalinovich says you can also provide a suggestion.

"There is a space there to suggest someone or something else you think should be on the bill; may be there is something we've missed or something that someone thinks is really important, we would like to consider those as well."

With the concept being released a week ago, Kalinovich says the commentary has been positive and people are interested and curious to watch Cochrane Currency be released.

"I know there is going to be a lot more comments and people talking about this as we get closer and closer to the May unveiling."

To cast your vote, head here; Kalinovich reminds residents to vote twice once for the front and once for the backside of the bill.
