Sarah Wozniewicz's overtime goal has put Alberta in tomorrow's gold medal final against Quebec in the Canada Winter Games.

Alberta picked the right game to hand British Columbia their first loss of the tournament and now face Quebec in a 12:30 p.m. final Saturday in Red Deer. The win came just a days after suffering a disappointing 6-1 loss against B.C. in their first game of preliminary play.

The first two periods of fast and intense hockey remained scoreless. Team Alberta scored the opening goal of the game in the second minute of play in the third period, a goal courtesy of Kassy Betinol. But British Columbia answered within minutes to equalize the game.

With no clear winner in regulation time, the match featured a 3-on-3 overtime period. Midway through the 10 minutes, Team Alberta’s Danielle Serdachny served a beautiful pass cross-ice with Cochrane's Sarah Wozniewicz tapping the puck behind the British Columbia goalie for the Alberta victory.

Quebec beat Ontario 1-0 with the only goal coming just under the two-minute mark of the first period.
