Drivers are being reminded to watch for volunteers tidying up the roadsides along highways in the Cochrane vicinity tomorrow.

Saturday, May 4 is the annual provincewide highway roadside cleanup that takes place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Volunteers from nonprofit organizations in orange safety vests will be collecting trash along highways across the province.

"On May 4th, join us in keeping Alberta’s highways clean and safe for everyone. Together, we can make a difference in our communities. I want to thank all the volunteers for participating in this year’s annual highway cleanup." said Devin Dreeshen, Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors

Motorists are asked to reduce their speed, adhere to signage, be vigilant for pedestrians, and exercise caution when passing cleanup crews.

In some regions of the province with wildfire activity, and in the event of poor weather, some areas may also complete the cleanup on May 11, or delay until later in the month.

The annual Cochrane Community Clean Up event is also set to go tomorrow.

It runs from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
