Cochrane's old tyme fair is coming to the Ag Grounds.

The annual fair is a combination of bringing country to the city with games and fun for all.

Molly Sapergia, Manager of Cochrane and District Agricultural Society, says there is so much going on it's hard to list it all.

"We have mini chuck wagons coming back, we have the midway. We have tons of children's activities; we have a new children's train that will wind around all the other activities. We have a huge Excel Homes entertainment stage with a juggler, magicians , acrobats, musicians, karaoke contests; there is a 'Market Place', I could go on and on.

Besides all the fun entertainment going on there are more agricultural themed activities.

"This year we have the Open Farms Days folks joining us so we have brought in more farm, agricultural vendors. We have got a bee keeper and some cattle ranchers coming in showing what they do."

On Saturday and Sunday, the Bearspaw Bench show will be going on where a variety of category entries will be judged. Cochrane Search and Rescue will also be on site, as well as Extreme Cowboy; Sapergia adds, "I think everybody of all ages will find something to find entertaining."

Sapergia adds it is all about bringing the community together.

"That was our goal all along, here is something for the Cochrane community both urban and rural. Ranchers, cowboys, and the city folks and the families especially, because there are so many young families in Cochrane. This will be a very economical day for them."

The Cochrane Fair kicks off Friday August 19 and runs until the 21st.

Admission is $5 (10 and under free) with separate charges for midway and train rides.
